Welcome to the Irish Draught Horse Society (NZ) website we hope you will enjoy your visit and learn more about the Irish horse in NZ. If you own an unregistered Irish Horse remember - it's never too late to register. Irish horses are found taking part in all equestrian disciplines in New Zealand from top dressage, show jumping and horse trials competitions to the show ring and pony club. The Irish Draught has an exceptionally strong and sound constitution. They are known for their intelligent and gentle nature, making them an ideal mount for all types of rider.
