HANNA PRE MARES
The mother mares at Hanna PRE Stud were carefully selected over 8 years of research. They are all within the 15.2 - 16.1hh range, able to produce bigger foals yet maintaining the classical type of PRE. All have proven to be excellent, gentle mares with beautiful kind, quiet, feminine temperaments, so important in high quality PRE mares. All of them were presented for inscription and valoration during the 2001 revision visit to NZ, passing with excellent marks with scores in the high 70s and lower 80s.

These selected mares are the mainstay of our breeding programme. Their contribution and that of their daughters will ensure we produce a distinct line of PRE horses that we hope will enhance the breeding gene pool for NZ and also produce very good all-round saddle horses with willing, kind, intelligent disposition and athletic aptitude.

Alondra XXIX

Alondra XXIX joined our stud in May 2004, on lease from Alma Vista Stud in Queensland, Australia. Alondra is a beautiful, big grey mare, a proven broodmare who received a score of over 80 points during the 2001 revision. Hanna Stud is thrilled to have been given the opportunity to add her genetics to our breeding programme. Alondra is by the now deceased Dacio III out of the Hortelano VII daughter Manuka Mistica, renown for producing big strong foals.
Alondra XXIX is also the dam of Alma Almendrito, bred by Alma Vista Stud, winner of the Champion Functionality and Reserve Champion Stallion at the 2006 EQUIPRE Australia Show.
She has produced a tall, strong, athletic colt foal by Cancionero CA in October 2006 and is in foal to Cancionero CA again for a December 2007 foal.

Hanna Enamorada

(SSB 24NZ046) (Farino x Moonshine Lace) DOB October 2004
We have been fortunate to be able to purchase this exceptional young mare back from Berwick Farm to use for the future of our stud, after she successfully passed her breeding evaluation in May 2008.

Enamorada has inherited the superb movement of her dam, together with good height, strong bone and excellent conformation. She is graying slowly, but we suspect that she carries the rare dun gene, due to her interesting foal colour and dun markings, the latter of which are still strongly visible in her coat.

Hanna Briosa

(SSB pending) (Cancionero CA x Alondra XXIX) DOB November 2007
This upstanding black/grey filly is the first female offspring out of Alondra XXIX by the imported stallion Cancionero CA owned by Heartwood Farm. She promises to grow into a very tall, strong horse and already exhibits the extraordinary athleticism that we have become accustomed to from her older full brother.
We have decided to keep this filly as a future broodmare, her half sister having been sold to Australia.
