The modern Hanoverian is an athletic and elegant individual with ability to excel in all international disciplines.
Though there have been many Hanoverian stallions imported to NZ, most are over 12 yrs old and thus do not represent this attractive and versatile new type.
Griffyndor's pedigree holds tremendous dressage and jumping blood: he has the scope to breed top level dressage horses, show jumpers and eventers.
His brothers and sisters by Gymnastik Star are taking both Australia's and New Zealand's dressage scene by storm.
Though Gymnastik Star's progeny have only just started to make their mark in the showjumping ring, they show great promise.
As a youngster, Griffyndor was shown in hand at four A&P shows, winning one reserve champion, five champions and two supreme champions. He has since won many more under saddle.
Griffyndor has had a very inconsistent ridden career to date due to his stud duties and his rider's family commitments. Despite these ongoing breaks in his training, Griffyndor has come home from every competition showered in glory. In his limited outings, he has gathered a devoted fan club. His good looks and outgoing personality make him a favourite with judges and spectators. We hope that in the next twelve months Griffyndor will have more consistent work and will get a chance to compete in some bigger competitions (May 2009).
