Welcome to Gurteen Stud's website. We are a havoverian stud based in North Canterbury, New Zealand. We also offer the additional services of thoroughbred yearling preparation, agistment, foaling, and weaning.
Gurteen Stud is the home of Griffyndor (above), our imported hanoverian-bred stallion. Gurteen Stud is also the new home to our freshly imported thoroughbred colt Diamond Park Sinatra. Sinatra was born in 2006 and will stand at stud as a 3yo in the 2009 season.
Gurteen Stud has always aimed to breed a horse with an exemplary temperament and the movement and athleticism to succeed in any discipline. With the addition of Sinatra, we are adding sensational colour to that list without forsaking any of our well established quality criteria.
Griffyndor now has a number of progeny under saddle. He is firmly stamping all his fledglings with his outgoing unflappable nature and huge presence under saddle.
