archived news     News March 30, 2010   SS Dakila has been sold to Shelley Butler of Rangiora, South Island to join the Straight Egyptian Colt SS Arifa (Simeon Shemini/Simeon Saharon) to form a small, quality Straight Egyptian breeding programme. We wish Shelley all the best with the purchase of this outstanding filly. SS Dakila March 30, 2010   Paula Humphries has recently purchased the gorgeous mare SS Tali (Simeon Shemini/Rula) and the gelding SS Khaznah (TF Fezzan/SS Mahsaali). We know Tali will breed on as well as her mother Rula - the dam of 3 NZ National Champion Title holders. We hope Khaznah will be as successful in the endurance scene as SS Shadrak and wish Paula all the best and our thanks again for choosing these two Gerzanne bred horses. Angela O'Connor attended the 2009 NZ National Championships where Farid was shown and awarded the Intermediate Reserve Champion Colt Title - after the show Angela told us that she had "fallen in love" and just had to purchase this outstanding moving grey colt. June 10, 2009 At the 2009 SI Endurance Championships SS Shadrak and Paula Humphries finished third in the CCI* 100km ride, in 7:48:53, and SS Shadrak was named Best Conditioned. Another Gerzanne-bred horse, SS Kaleb (Simeon Shomer x Kafiza), a full brother to SS Nokomis, finished fifth with Teresa Hoult in the 160km three-star ride. 26 March, 2009 Gerzanne again takes Top Honours at the Nationals TF Fezzan SS Tarifa At the 2009 New Zealand National Championships - held in appalling conditions over the weekend of February 28-March 1 in Cambridge - Gerzanne took out the title of NZ National Champion Stallion with their American imported stallion TF Fezzan and NZ National Champion Intermediate Filly with SS Tarifa (Simeon Shemini/Simeon Saharon). SS Nisr SS Nisr (Simeon Shemini/Simeon Seviat) was top 3 Junior Colt SS Raf SS Raf (Simeon Shemini/SS Barzani) was awarded the Reserve Champion Intermediate Gelding SS Silah SS Farid (TF Fezzan/Simeon Setami) was named Reserve Champion Intermdiate Colt, and SS Nisr (Simeon Shemini/Simeon Seviat) was Top Three Junior Colt. Both SS Silah (Simeon Shemini/Rula) and SS Abida (Simeon Shemini/Rula) were Top Five Junior and Intermediate Filly respectively. SS Abida 14 July, 2008 Simeon Shemini and Gerzanne bred horses again lined up at the New Zealand National Championships. SS Baasha SS Baasha (Simeon Shemini/SS Barzani) was sashed Reserve Junior Champion Gelding. SS Barak SS Barak was awarded the title of Reserve Champion Senior Gelding, Reserve Champion Native Costume, Reserve Paced and Mannered. Maaressa MA The title of National Champion Mare went to Maaressa MA owned by Maree Cave and Melissa Holdom of Maazea Arabians. Maaressa MA is by Simeon Shemini out of Mea a Simeon Shomer daughter. The same title was won last year by SS Ari - a full sister in blood to Maaressa MA as Mea and Rula are full sisters. JA Kareena - another daughter of Simeon Shomer - was awarded the titles of Champion Show Costume, Reserve Champion Ridden Mare and Top Five Paced and Mannered. Sue and Bev were delighted to see SS Masi (Simeon Shemini/SS Mahtob) the 2003 NZ National Champion Filly, qualify in the broodmare class with a gorgeous foal at foot. July, 2008 Congratulations to Lee West from Fairway Lodge Arabians, on the purchase of SS Latifa. 7 February, 2008 SS Barak SS Barak is performing unbelievably well in the performance and halter rings with the following results for so few outings Cambridge A&P - Reserve Champion Gelding Waihi A&P - Reserve Champion Ridden; Champion Gelding and Supreme Champion Warkworth A&P in the Open Ring - Reserve Champion Novice Park Hack; Champion Open Rider Te Kauwhata A& P - Champion Novice Horse. Northland Classic - Champion Gelding and Reserve Champion Ridden. Another Shem daughter Maaressa MA - at the same show was Champion Mare and Supreme of the Show. On a visit to Gerzanne Arabians recently Arnaud and Wendy Majoor from Landseer Stud, Waiuku, Auckland, fell in love with and purchased SS Tali (Simeon Shemini +AU/Rula), another beautiful Rula daughter.
