Eastdale Stud in the early years endeavoured to use the best available outside stallions. The first resident stallion was Englishe Ending, (Cusop Display x Riverflats Desert Air), an upstanding grey stallion who has left some super ponies.
Then with huge success came the English-bred Greenlee Merry Minstrel (Stenigot Nightingale x Breccles Clemintine). He made an immediate impact leaving many beautiful ponies throughout New Zealand, including Eastdale Legacy, (Englishe Espirit - Yealand Night Flight), current Pony of the year under 128cm and Grand Champion both North and South Islands; Eastdale Beatrice (Eastdale Serenade - Stenigot Nightingale); full sisters out of the imported mare Eastdale Royal Romance (Syon Royal Potrait - Kirreway Xcell) Eastdale Merry Model and Eastdale Merry Go Round; Eastdale Merry Moments (Monymusk Titania - Dark Idol); plus many more.
With his beautiful fillies here, I began to look for a new English stallion. After several trips overseas I couldn't believe my luck to be offered what is believed to be one of the most impressive stallions to come to New Zealand, Falconhurst Flashdance. A bright bay standing 13.1hh, he carries generations of renowned bloodlines. He has excellent conformation combined with extravagant movement and a super temperament.
His mother, Rosslyn Riverdancer, who was imported to Australia after carrying off many major titles in England, is simply exquisite. Since her arrival in Australia she has been broken in and been shown under saddle. She is by the renowned Lechlade Quince out of Rosslyn Sweet Repose, the most beautiful mare who has qualified for the Wembley finals six times, believed to be an unequalled record, who in turn is out of Rosslyn Sweet Fun. These mares have produced so many of Britain's top show ponies, many under the skillful hand of Robert Cochrane of Deanhills Stud.

This season saw three new youngsters produced with great success; Royal Champion E. Copelia and the champion yearling Monstevos Just-n-Pretoria (Ascot Royal Emblem x Windvale Just-n-Time) and the two-year-old E. Blissful. These three quality fillies have super movement and inherit their sire's lovely temperament, and will no doubt go on to huge futures under saddle.
