Maestro

1990 PUREBRED SWEDISH WARMBLOOD
CALLAGHAN 460 (16hh) x MANIARA 2082 (16.2hh, 22cm bone)

Classified New Zealand Warmblood Stallion (studbook) ... a pedigree unique to NZ

Maestro has again named the top South Island warmblood sire for the 2004-05 season, for the fourth year running. His progeny also filled the top six placings in the youngstock rankings in 2002-03. Results.

Maestro has movement like you've never seen. He is bold, powerful, and elevated. His bloodlines are a boon for New Zealand breeders - he is by the State Premium A Swedish Stallion Callaghan. This award is the highest given to a breeding stallion. Maestro's dam Maniara is the highest scoring Swedish Warmblood mare in the world.

Once you see Maestro, you won't forget him.

Maestro's stock are consistently winning in-hand championships and supremes in both the sport horse ring and in warmblood competition. They are inheriting his movement, his excellent temperament and his correct conformation. They are sensible, intelligent and quick to learn, and maturing from 15.3hh to 17hh.

Maestro has excellent conformation, paces and temperament. His movement is bold, powerful, with excellent elevation.

He is also a sensible stallion with a superb temperament.

Maestro is unshown, but his half-brother, Maxamillion (purebred SWB), won the NZ Grand National Warmblood 2003, with Maestro's daughter Silver Song runner-up. (See our acheievements page for more results). Maxamillion was placed third and fourth his first time out at a two-day dressage tournament in May 2002, and he was Champion and Supreme Sport Horse in-hand at the 2002 Nelson Pony Breeders show.

In the 2001-2002 season Maestro was also named the top South Island warmblood sire. Several of his progeny were also recognised:

Lyndgael Northern Rose won top youngstock Warmblood 2001/2002
Caithness Cinderella was second
Caithness Silver Song was third
Caithness Cocktail was fifth.

Congratulations to all who showed progeny by our stallions with success.
