A vicious knife attack on a partially blind pony in southern Wales is being investigated by police.
Moe suffered serious injuries in the attack, which occurred on the marsh at Penclawdd, most probably between 8pm on Thursday, February 25, and 10am the next day.
A “Justice for Moe” Facebook community has been set up to support Moe and keep people up-to-date. It has more than 900 followers at the time of writing.
Moe was among three horses in the field at the time of the attack.
Police in South Wales have appealed for witnesses to come forward.
Sergeant Ben Rowe assured locals that police were doing all they could to find those responsible.
He said police remained uncertain of the motive, but described the incident as very concerning.
A GoFundMe page has been set up to raise money to help pay for Moe’s veterinary care. At the time of writing, the page had raised £477 towards its £2000 target in 22 hours.
Moe’s young owner is said by friends to be devastated by the attack.
