The best equestrian shows in the US as selected by the North American Riders Group have been named for 2015, with the organisation evaluating close to 50 events.
Coming out on top for 2015 was the Spruce Meadows Masters Tournament, which scored 88% in the NARG’s new ranking system, heading off Thunderbird in Virginia in second at 81%, and Toronto’s Royal Agricultural Winter Fair in third spot.
As well as delivering bouquets, the rankings also provide feedback to organisers about possible improvements or changes that could be made to enhance the experience of those taking part in the shows.
In its report on 2015, the NARG noted how much equestrian sport had improved since it began its top 25 initiative in 2010. “In 2010, we were stretched to find a top 25 show without issues that needed to be addressed. Most of our continent’s best events were lacking in one area or another.
“We feel a broad sense of accomplishment and are confident that this project played a role in the development of these events. As we’ve said before, our hats are off, not only to all the volunteers who help with the NARG Top 25, but to the efforts beyond ours that, when combined, most certainly improve our sport.”
