British police are hunting for a one-month-old pony named Cecil who was stolen from his mother.
“Cecil is very small and would be very distressed to be away from his mother and the safe environment the stable offers,” said Constable John Phelan, of Hertfordshire Police.
“Likewise, Cecil’s owner is absolutely distraught with worry.
“Cecil is a very distinctive pony and I would urge anyone who believes they know of his location to contact me immediately.”
Police have released pictures of Cecil in the hopes a member of the public will see him somewhere.
Cecil was taken from Aldenham, from a stable at a property in Summerhouse Lane.
Police are treating the crime as a burglary. Cecil was removed sometime between 7pm on Thursday, August 14, and 7am the following day.
Phelan said anyone who remembers anything unusual or suspicious during the time in question around Summerhouse Lane should contact him.
“They may have information that can assist our investigation,” he said.
Anyone with information should contact Contact Phelan via Hertfordshire Constabulary’s non-emergency number 101, quoting crime reference J2/14/965. Alternatively call Crimestoppers, the independent charity, anonymously on 0800 555 111.
