British riders hold the top two places after the dressage phase at Ireland’s CCI3* Tattersalls International Horse Trials, with Kitty King leading on Persimmon 40.4, and Izzy Taylor second on Allercombe Ellie with 41.0.
Close behind is Australia’s Paul Tapner, who put up a score of 42.2 on Indian Mill. Sarah Ennis, in seventh place on Stellor Rebound, is the best placed of the Irish riders in this class.
New Zealand’s Blyth Tait is currently 10th on Xanthus with 48.8.
Australia’s Brook Staples on Doonaveeragh O Six and Britain’s Piggy French on Seapatrick Dark Cruise are the joint leaders in the CCI2*, with 34.3. Britain’s Gemma Tattersall holds third on Quicklook (34.6) and fifth on Dinky Inky (40.9), with Willilam Fox-Pitt fourth on Luxury FH. Also in the top 10 is New Zealand’s Lucy Jackson on Corazon (41.3, 6th) and Andrew Nicholson on Jet Set (47.0, 10th).
Forty-seven riders in this class have completed their dressage, with more to go through on Friday.
In the Land Rover sponsored CCI1*, William Fox-Pitt leads the class of 98 with Top Biats on 36.9, with Ireland’s Claire Abbott second on Oakley with 40.0. Britain’s Oliver Townend is third equal on Colonel Joe with Japan’s Toshiyuki Tanaka and Marquis de Plescop and Tom McEwen (GBR) on Toledo de Kerser, all of whom are on 40.6 penalties.
The CIC3* is yet to start with dressage kicking off for the 28 riders on Friday. The field includes New Zealand’s Tim Price on Wesko, Lucy Jackson on Bosun, and Jonelle Price on The Deputy.
