Police in the Philippines municipality of Itogen are taking to horses and bicycles to patrol their patch.
They will focus especially on the tourist areas of Itogen, which is within the province of Benguet.
Police Chief Inspector Fernando Botangen told the Philippine Information Agency that police would be using their newly acquired horses and bicycles for the maintenance of peace and order.
The horses were purchased in January by the municipal government.
They will be especially useful in areas where police cars and motorcycles cannot go, Botangen said.
The horses are stationed in Dalupirip barangay because it is a popular tourist area and the jump start area for climbers going to the different mountains in the area.
Botangen said personnel had been trained in the use of the horses, motorbikes and bicycles.
