Cutting-edge research into topics including post-concussion syndrome are up for discussion at next week’s meeting of the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine.
More than 1400 sports medicine physicians from around the world will gather in New Orleans, Louisiana, for the five-day meeting, starting on April 4.
Key research will address overuse injuries and burnout in youth sports, post-concussion syndrome, cardiac screening, obesity and other challenges facing sports medicine today. Some 111 research abstracts will be presented at the meeting.
A fund-raising auction will also be held during the conference. This initiative has raised more than $90,000 in the past three years.
The American Medical Society for Sports Medicine (AMSSM) is the largest primary care sports medicine physician organization in the USA.
