US showjumper Jessica Springsteen is the latest equestrian to join fashion house Gucci as an ambassador.
Springsteen joins Charlotte Casiraghi, Edwina Tops-Alexander and Guillaume Canet in the Gucci riding ambassadors’ team.
To celebrate the new partnership, Gucci creative director Frida Giannini has designed a riding collection dedicated to the 22-year-old, who is the middle child of US singer Bruce Springsteen.
“I have been riding since I was four years old, and grew up around horses. I love the freedom you feel on horseback, and enjoy the discipline of competition,” Jessica Springsteen said.
“Riding in the collection that Frida has created for me is an honor and great fun — it combines the best of sport and style.”
Gucci returned to equestrian design in December 2009 after a 20-year break. In that same year, it became the sponsor of the Gucci Masters in Paris.
Giannini reintroduced the Gucci crest, which features a heraldic shield incorporating the figure of a knight in armor holding a suitcase and handbag in place of a sword and shield, in 2008.
Springsteen’s collection will have a personalized crest, featuring her initials: J.R.S.
