A donkey found stuck in a chilly canal in Dublin, Ireland, is now in the care of a welfare group.
The Dublin SPCA said the donkey, named Nicola after her rescue, was suffering from hypothermia after being pulled to safety, but was expected to make a full recovery.
The charity thanked Dublin Fire Brigade members from Tallaght for their efforts.
The brigade sent two units to help the charity rescue Nicola from the canal alongside Nangor Rd.
Nicola had spent a long time in the water, according to the SPCA.
“We would especially like to thank the fireman from Canada who got into the water to assist us in the rescue – mounties always get their donkeys!” it added on its Facebook page.
