A South Australian horse body’s online release of a brochure which provides helpful information for horse owners who keep their animals in stables, yards or smaller paddocks, is proving popular.
Horse SA says its “Tips for the Care of Confined Horses” has been the most downloaded document on its website in the last five years.
“Traditional practices, beliefs and animal husbandry knowledge associated with horses are just as relevant today,” said Julie Fiedler, executive officer for Horse SA.
“This does not mean, however, that we should stop sharing our ideas, applying learnings from research findings or encouraging people to find new ways to enhance the care of their horse.”
