The governing body of horse sport in Ireland is calling for applications for the role of high performance manager for both eventing and showjumping.
The roles are currently held by Ginny Elliot in eventing and Robert Splaine in show jumping, but both have contracts expiring at the end of 2012, though they are eligible to apply for the advertised positions.
Horse Sport Ireland has opened applications for Senior High Performance Manager in Three Day Eventing, and Senior High Performance Manager in Show Jumping.
In both cases, emphasis has been placed on qualifying a team for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. At the London Olympics, Ireland qualified a Three Day Eventing team, which finished in fifth place overall, with rider Aoife Clark and the Irish Sport Horse Master Crusoe taking seventh individually.
In show jumping, the Irish did not qualify a team, but secured two individual slots, which were filled by Billy Twomey and Cian O’Connor. O’Connor won the individual Bronze Medal with Blue Loyd.
The closing date for applications is December 20.
A briefing document setting out the terms and job descriptions is available on request from Mark O’Donnell at Amrop Strategis [email protected] or +353 1 669 7313.
