Authorities in California are hunting those responsible for shooting a horse, which was found tied with a rope and dumped on a roadside.
The matter is being investigated by San Joaquin County sheriff’s deputies.
The horse, still wearing a red halter, was believed to have been dumped overnight on Friday along Greenwood Road in Vernalis.
Deputies believed it was killed elsewhere and then dumped at the scene.
They are checking the horse for any markings or tattoos that point to the horse’s owner.
